Today, just like yesterday, we divided our activities into different departments.
The Market Development Department went to a market held by Surin University and had a meeting with Mr. Sasithorn Lertmaneepong (King), a university professor in the field of agricultural technology. In the morning, they worked with local students to experience preparing soil for growing cacti. By mixing seven types of soil, it can create soil that will grow well without pesticides.
In the afternoon, we had a discussion with P'King. We introduced the activities of both the Market Development Department and P'King to each other, and searched for activity ideas that had the same purpose.
At the Exchange Department, we prepared for the bilateral market in the morning and created decorations. We created signboards to convey the culture of Japan and Thailand, decorative items inspired by mari lanterns, and plastic bottle lamps. We also created bamboo lights and handpaint art for the stage background. We will proceed with preparations for the bilateral market, which is approaching in three days.
Continuing from yesterday, the Education Department held English Station for upper and lower grades, the last of the expedition. In the upper grade classroom, I had each student present the self-introduction sentences they had learned in class up until yesterday. Although they were nervous, everyone was able to present what they like and what they can do.
In the lower grade classrooms, we conducted tests and surveys in addition to reviewing the alphabet and numbers. The children learned basic English knowledge by singing ABC songs, number songs, and playing karuta. In addition, by conducting the tests and questionnaires conducted on the first day again, we investigated how the children's motivation for English and academic ability had changed.
Tomorrow is the last day of activities divided into departments. We have reached a halfway point in our activities for each department, so we will continue to work with even more enthusiasm.
