Day 7 of Summer Expedition 2024

Today's activities in the Education Department were held at Wat Thaksin Waree Elementary School, just like yesterday! šŸ“šāœļø This time, we conducted career education for 5th and 6th graders! During the first period, we used mind maps to provide the students with an opportunity to reflect on themselves. They wrote down their hobbies, strengths, and weaknesses, which helped them better understand themselves by visualizing these aspects! āœØšŸ‘€ In the second period, to help them gain a better understanding of various occupations, we showed videos and had PRENGO members use gestures to expand their image of different careers. Through this lesson, we aimed to help the students discover new careers they want to pursue or fields they are interested in. Ultimately, we hope this will broaden their options when considering their future dreams and help them discover new possibilities.šŸŽ€šŸ«§

MDD first headed to Suan Niwet Kaset Sin. šŸ’ØUpon arrival, Ms. Sanya taught us about herb dyeing and how herb dyeing products are made. Next, we cut the plants and trees we gathered yesterday into small pieces to extract color for the dye. We then boiled the plants and trees to extract the dye.šŸŒ±āœØ

After that, we used wooden sticks and rubber bands to tie up the clothes and handkerchiefs to create patterns for dyeing. Once these tasks were completed, we had lunch.

After lunch, we returned to Suan Niwet Kaset Sin to continue the herb dyeing process. We dipped the clothes into the dye solution for a short time to color them. Then, we rinsed them with water to remove the excess dye. This resulted in beautifully colored patterns on the clothes, which were then hung up to dry.

Throughout the day, we came to appreciate the charm of herb dyeing even more. It involved many steps and was not something that could be done easily. However, the finished products were unique, with beautiful colors and different patterns, giving everyone a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction with the results.šŸ¤ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„

Next, we discussed the "To B" project, talking about the purpose of the activity and the detailed methods for carrying it out.

Tomorrow, we will continue our activities related to herb dyeing.

EXD held activities at Srinarong, a secondary school in Surin!šŸ«

Since this was PRENGO's first visit to Srinarong, we started with icebreakers to ease the tension and deepen our interaction. šŸ‘«āœØ During the lessons, we taught around 60 high school students, divided into two sessions, how to say and ask about their favorite colors in Japanese. Additionally, through activities like Fruit Basket, the students could learn color names while moving their bodies! Although some students were playing Fruit Basket for the first time, both PRENGO members and the students enjoyed it together. šŸŽšŸ‹šŸ„ The students actively participated and presented, which helped deepen our mutual understanding. Furthermore, a teacher from Pakistan, who came as an English teacher, also joined and showed interest in our activities!šŸ˜Š
