Day 6 of Summer Expedition 2024

Updated: Aug 16

Today, the EDD Department conducted English lessons for students in grades 4 through 6 at Wat Taksin Waree Elementary School! The lessons were based on content previously taught in online classes, using phrases from stories such as "Little Red Riding Hood," "The Three Billy Goats Gruff," and "Hansel and Gretel" 📕. In the morning, students learned through activities like fill-in-the-blank quizzes, and in the afternoon, they engaged in the challenging activity of reading and acting out phrases from the fairy tales. Even members participating in the trip for the first time were able to actively interact with the energetic students in English 😊. We will continue to create ways for the children to enjoy learning English. Tomorrow, we plan to conduct a lesson on career education for the students at the same school.

The MDD Department first visited Surindra Rajabhat University, where they had a discussion with Professor Ladawan 🗣️. The department focuses on revitalizing local businesses through product development and sales promotion, aiming to generate sustainable revenue. During the discussion with Professor Ladawan, they talked about the current market situation, sales methods, and the beneficiaries of their support. From what they learned, the PRENGO members generated ideas 💡 and held a discussion.

After lunch, they headed to Suan Niwet Kaset Sin, where they participated in activities related to herb dyeing. They first collected dyes from plants and trees, which was challenging as they used axes to gather the materials. However, they were able to experience the unique nature not found in Japan and felt refreshed by the plants 🌱 and animals 🐱, making it a memorable experience.

Next, they held a meeting with Ms. Sanya. They started by discussing topics such as crowdfunding and sales, which had been tested before the trip. They reported on the overview, results, and challenges of these activities. Finally, they discussed the To B project 🗣️, which involves collaborating with companies to promote and sell herb dyeing products. They talked about the future prospects for this activity and received advice on upcoming plans as well as feedback on their past efforts. They plan to review and refine their future activities based on the results of their domestic efforts and the well-considered proposals.

Today, the EXD conducted a Japanese language class for high school students at Siram Prachasan School 📚. The lesson involved slowly teaching students how to say their names and talk about their favorite foods in Japanese. In the morning, the lessons were conducted with first- and second-year students, and in the afternoon with third-year students 📖. To make learning easier for the Thai students, they incorporated games like "Fruit Basket" into the lesson. Even though it was their first expedition, the PRENGO members were able to actively engage with the energetic students in Japanese! Moving forward, they will continue to find creative ways for the students to enjoy learning Japanese. Tomorrow, we plan to teach Japanese to students at another school in Surin 👍
