Hello, everyone! Today, our team was divided into three main departments: Education, Market Development, and Exchange. Let me delve into each department's activities for the day. Starting with the Education Department, we visited Wat Taksin Waree Elementary School. Our primary objective was to bolster the children's educational enthusiasm, creativity, structuring abilities, and English proficiency. To achieve this, we introduced the "Measuring Game," where kids use their pre-measured body lengths to guess the lengths of given objects. Following this, we created Kamishibai, a traditional Japanese paper play. During our break, we had the chance to engage in physical activities with the children. It was heartwarming to see them thoroughly enjoy and actively participate in the games we introduced.
Moving on to the Exchange Department, our first stop was the Baan U-lok Child Development Center. Here, the educators shared in-depth about the actual teaching methods and curriculum they employ. The emphasis was on mock market setups, walking practices, and block play. These activities aim not only at fostering relationships among children but also preparing them with essential social skills for when they step into society. Later in the afternoon, we held a productive meeting with P’Ya at Suan Niwet Kaset Sin, discussing the market event planned for next spring.
We are looking forward to more such discussions as we gear up for our long-term initiatives.
Lastly, the Market Development Department had a busy day conducting market surveys. Our morning began at the Fresh Market, where we directly interviewed vendors, gaining insights into their challenges and areas for potential market improvement. This session was precious as it provided firsthand information unique to the local setting. After this, we reconvened at our hotel to discuss our findings, reflect on our approach, and share potential improvements. The afternoon had us at the Klongtom Market, where we utilized our morning's learnings to conduct a more refined market survey.
Tomorrow, we'll continue with our respective departments. Stay tuned for more updates in our next post!
