Day 9 of Spring Expedition 2024

The Education Department had its last class today at Wat Thaksin Waree Elementary School. We continued our career education classes for the 5th and 6th graders. We asked the students to share with the group the number of days they have acted on their goals and then presented their vision of their future in front of everyone. Children were less resistant to sharing their goals and actions with their classmates than last time. After the class, we had a meeting with the teachers. We reflected on the classes and activities PRENGO members had conducted over the past five days and discussed future activities. The teachers thanked us for our work, and the PRENGO members and teachers shared feedback and impressions with each other.

The Market Development Department had a meeting today at the hotel to review the activities of the department for the past 5 days, including a meeting with Ladawan professor, who teaches community development at Ratchapat Surin University, and students, as well as with the staff of Ban Takhian Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, and Ms. Sasithorn Lertmaneepong, a university professor in the field of agricultural technology. During these five days, we had a series of discussions to define new axes of activity that the department could undertake. We reflected on these discussions and had useful discussions regarding the guidelines for future activities. In the afternoon, we discussed the flow and questions regarding the evening meeting with the management of the hotel where we are staying. In addition, we discussed areas for improvement during the departmental meetings during the expedition and ways to apply them in the future. The hotel manager is also an associate professor of management at Ratchapat Surin University, so we were able to gain useful knowledge and information in terms of management when selling products.

The Exchange Department also prepared for the Bilateral Market today. In the morning, we first went to print posters and stamp rally forms to be used at the Bilateral Market. Then we headed to Suan Niwet Kaset Sin, and upon arrival, we were divided into groups for final preparations. First, we made hemp ball lanterns, reinforced the posters, and finalized the signboards. Bamboo ball lanterns had already been made, but we made additional hemp ones as decorations. We also printed posters with details of the stores that will be open at the market, and reinforced them with cardboard to prevent tearing. We then made signs with the market name and other information written on handprint painting cloth that we made with the children in the Class of Initiatives. In the afternoon, after continuing the morning's work, we had a review meeting and a meeting about the Bilateral Market. After that, we visited the Rabo Chia market to promote the Bilateral Market to the vendors.
